Volunteer at CLS

Serving Together. Strengthening Community.

Community Lutheran School thrives because of our families, church members, and friends who are willing to share their time and talents with our school. Volunteering at CLS is one of the most meaningful ways to support students, strengthen relationships, and live out our shared commitment to Christian education.

Why Volunteer at CLS

Volunteers help make CLS the close-knit, caring community it is. By serving alongside teachers and staff, volunteers:

  • Support students in and beyond the classroom
  • Strengthen the partnership between home, school, and church
  • Help create a welcoming, relational environment
  • Model service, generosity, and care for others

Most importantly, volunteers show students what it looks like to live out faith through service.

Ways to Get Involved

There are many ways to volunteer at Community Lutheran School, including:

  • Assisting with classrooms or special projects
  • Helping with school events and activities
  • Supporting field trips and special programs
  • Lending skills behind the scenes as needs arise
  • Leading extra-curricular activities and opportunities

Opportunities vary throughout the year, allowing volunteers to serve in ways that fit their availability and interests.

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Community Lutheran School exists to strengthen the partnership between home and school while supporting students, teachers, and the life of our community. All parents of enrolled students are members of the PTO, with meetings typically held quarterly beginning in September.

Parents are encouraged to serve on committees that support school projects, events, and athletic activities. These opportunities help families stay connected, build relationships, and actively support the mission and day-to-day life of CLS.

The PTO also provides opportunities for parent education and fellowship. Quarterly gatherings often include guided discussion – such as our current focus on The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt – while children are supervised by volunteers and engaged in fun activities. Through service, learning, and connection, the PTO helps foster a strong, Christ-centered school community.

Thank You for Serving
