For more than a century, Lutheran education has shaped young hearts and minds in our community. Immanuel Lutheran Church in Readlyn and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Klinger each once operated their own schools, faithfully teaching God’s Word and preparing children for lives of service. Over 40 years ago, they united that vision to form Community Lutheran School, carrying forward a mission that has remained steady from our earliest classrooms to our thriving campuses today.

Generations of families have chosen CLS because it is more than a school – it is a Christ-centered community where teachers, parents, and students walk together in faith. Here, children are known and loved, encouraged to grow in wisdom and character, and equipped to step confidently into the future as witnesses of the one true God.

A Legacy of Support

Community Lutheran School exists because of the faithful, decades-long partnership between Immanuel Lutheran Church in Readlyn and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Klinger. These congregations have poured in their prayers, resources, and leadership to keep Christ-centered education strong for families in this community.

Their support reaches far beyond finances. Members volunteer, maintain our buildings, serve as trustees, and continually pray for our students and staff. Many once had children or grandchildren in these same classrooms, creating a multigenerational legacy of faith. This shared commitment remains one of our greatest strengths, keeping CLS rooted in Scripture, grounded in Lutheran doctrine, and focused on equipping students with the truth of God’s Word and the hope of Christ.

Educating for Eternity 

At CLS, academics are important – but they are never the end goal. Each lesson, every activity, and all of our traditions are centered on Christ. We teach our students that they are uniquely created by God, gifted with talents and purpose, and called to live as His witnesses. Our mission is simple: to prepare children not only for high school, but for life in God’s Kingdom.

Today, CLS serves families from Readlyn and surrounding towns, uniting children of many backgrounds in a shared community of faith and learning. With small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and a supportive family atmosphere, CLS continues to grow while holding fast to the values that have guided us since the very beginning.
