Our Campuses

One School. Two Campuses. One Christ-Centered Community.

For more than a century, Lutheran education has shaped young hearts and minds in our community. Immanuel Lutheran Church in Readlyn and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Klinger each once operated their own schools, faithfully teaching God’s Word and preparing children for lives of service. Over 40 years ago, they united that vision to form Community Lutheran School, carrying forward a mission that has remained steady from our earliest classrooms to our thriving campuses today.

Generations of families have chosen CLS because it is more than a school – it is a Christ-centered community where teachers, parents, and students walk together in faith. Here, children are known and loved, encouraged to grow in wisdom and character, and equipped to step confidently into the future as witnesses of the one true God.

One Community

Though Community Lutheran School operates on two campuses, we are one school community. Students, families, staff, and churches are connected through shared worship, traditions, events, and relationships.

CLS serves families from Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Waverly, Denver, Oran, Fairbank, Littleton, Sumner, Tripoli, Readlyn, Klinger, and everywhere in between. You’ll often see teachers, our pastor, and families supporting students across both campuses and throughout the community – reinforcing that faith and relationships extend beyond the classroom.

Different locations. One heart.

Readlyn Campus

Our Readlyn campus is home to our early childhood and kindergarten programs, providing a warm, nurturing environment where young learners are introduced to school in a way that feels safe, joyful, and rooted in faith.

Here, students begin each day with prayer, learn Bible stories alongside foundational academics, and are surrounded by teachers who know them personally. Relationships are built early - between students, teachers, and families - and those connections often last for years.

Parents often share that the Readlyn campus feels like an extension of home: a place where children are loved, encouraged, and gently guided as they grow in confidence, curiosity, and faith.

Klinger Campus

As students grow, they transition to the Klinger campus, where they continue their education in a setting designed to support our elementary and middle school learners.

Our Klinger campus provides space for deeper academic engagement, leadership development, and spiritual growth. Students participate in regular chapel services, Bible classes, athletics, and extracurricular opportunities that help prepare them for high school and beyond.

Just as importantly, students continue to be known by name. Teachers walk closely with them through academic challenges, questions of faith, and the everyday moments of growing up - reinforcing that they are never navigating life alone.
